The Red Nosed Mabbetteers

13th March 2015

Once again, we are eating cake! Never ones to miss out on a good cause, we are supporting Comic Relief through Red Nose Day 2015. Not only because we do indeed love cake, but also to raise cash and change lives both here in the UK and across Africa.

We had an interesting selection of treats, including: hipster salted caramel bars, perfectly layered (and highly advocated) tiramisu, a mother-in-law-made three tier Victoria sponge, smashing Scottish snowballs, gooey crispy cakes and a moist carrot cake (with some questionable blue sprinkles). Someone also managed to sneak in some bread (homemade… by our very own Roots and Fruits friends!).

Rumours are that our Rosyth office had a bit of a Red Nose Day cupcake battle, and our Belfast office also had a Bake-Off, inviting other companies to join in to maximise donations. The Belfast winner was Philip Harshaw, who stole the show with his stylish and equally tasty raspberry and coconut buns (- apparently they weren’t just any buns, they were M&S ingredient buns).  Thanks also to Adelaide House, Belfast tenants for their donations – Driver Hire Group, Office Depot, Abo Wind, Praxis Care, and Causeway Asset Management.

The Mabbett firm agreed to donate for each person who baked, so combined with all donations, we raised a whopping £238.30. We also want to thank the Adelaide House tenants in Belfast for their donations – Driver Hire Group, Office Depot, Abo Wind, Praxis Care, and Causeway Asset Management.

If you’d like to donate too, we’d be really grateful, as together our generosity will help to make a world of difference to people living incredibly tough lives: http://my.rednoseday.com/sponsor/mabbetteers

To the bakers, the eaters and the donators – thank you, from Mabbett and on behalf of those we’ll help.
