You will be based in NI/ROI supporting local clients across a range of sustainability services including (but not limited to); sustainability strategy development and auditing, energy and resource (water, waste, transport, materials) site auditing; carbon footprint and net zero action plan development; waste management and circular economy; ESG and other sustainability framework reporting, and environmental management and assessment tools (ISO standards, Lifecycle Assessment etc.) development and support.

The Role

This will be a combination of desk-based work and client-facing responsibilities with responsibilities for excellent project delivery and great customer service. Our clients are wide and varied, bringing diversity and interest to the project portfolio mix.

We are a flexible employer offering hybrid working from our Belfast or Dublin offices and are willing to consider an arrangement that is desirable to you.

The position may require travel (including occasional overnight stays) in Ireland, the U.K. and overseas depending on project requirements. Company pool cars are available for business travel – a full U.K. or ROI driving licence with clean driver record is required as well as a valid passport and photo ID is required for air travel. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.K. and Republic Of Ireland.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess an Honours or Masters Degree in Science, Environmental Management, Engineering, Sustainability, Waste, Energy, Business, Quality Management, or similar.

Professional Institute membership (e.g. IEMA) would be viewed favourably.

Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate will have experience with regards to many of the following areas/disciplines, with a minimum of 1-4 years’ business/ industrial/ consultancy experience including data management, report writing, researching solutions and project delivery to meet performance KPIs. Graduates with appropriate work experience and sustainability skills will also be considered. Generally the candidate is expected to be able to demonstrate the following skills;

  • Successful track record in delivering environmental and sustainability project work.
  • Organised, logical and structured; attention to detail.
  • Communication and training/facilitation skills.
  • Bringing numeracy, data analysis/interpretation, business acumen.
  • Creative thinking and ability to identify and drive new business opportunities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Professional software packages, including Excel.
  • Language skills (English minimum).

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and position requirements.
