Water savings of over £260,000. for 13 Northern Irish businesses

Mabbett identified total annual water cost savings of over £260,000. and environmental savings of over 135,000m3 of water across 13 Northern Irish businesses.

Mabbett supported 13 Northern Irish businesses from a range of sectors, including manufacturing, hospitality, food and drink, construction sector and environmental products to identify opportunities to improve water efficiency through support to identify where they are using water, what it’s costing and how they can manage it more efficiently.

Mabbett undertook a water-focused resource efficiency audit and drew up a costed action plan of water efficiency improvements. Recommendations to improve water efficiency included: implementing a monitoring and targeting system, developing a water mass balance, staff awareness training and installing water saving devices.

The water-focused resource efficiency audit identified total annual water cost savings of over £260,000. and environmental savings of over 135,000m3 of water.

Mabbett supported a number of the businesses with implementation of the action plan resulting from the water-focused resource efficiency audit, support included development of a water mass balance.

Ten of the participant companies applied for and were successful in obtaining the Consumer Council Water Champions Award, aimed at helping businesses, farms and schools improve water efficiency and save money on bills. Click here for more information on the Water Champions Award.
