Recruitment is now open for the next cohort of the successful ‘BITES’ business improvement programme open to businesses in Northern Ireland in the following council areas: Belfast, Carrickfergus, Lisburn and Newtownabbey. The programme is designed to assist businesses to reduce overhead costs (such as waste, water, materials and energy) by up to 10% and increase your competitiveness in the market place.

Business Improvement through Environmental Solutions (BITES) is a commercial programme designed to not only identify opportunities to improve resource efficiency and save money, but also boosting your business through up-skilling and benchmarking with others on business performance. The Mabbett delivery team are experienced in assisting businesses actually implement and achieve results, and to this end, 1-to-1 support is included in the BITES programme.  This not only helps make your business more sustainable but also improve tender and PQQ scorings through implementing an environmental management system to BS8555 Level 3 equivalent for your own business.

Proven Results:

Since 2010, twenty-two companies ranging from micro-SMEs with 5 employees to SMEs with up to 100 employees have graduated from the programme and witnessed identified combined cost savings of over £320,000.

Programme Structure:

BITES is a comprehensive programme delivered through a series of business improvement workshops coupled with one-to-one site specific implementation support permitting the programme to be designed around your specific business needs. The BITES programme also assists participant companies to put the foundations of an environmental management system in place to manage key resource consumption and costs moving forward so identified cost savings once implemented can be witnessed year-on-year.
