The Architectural team worked closely with the company Division Manager to review and develop options for extending and altering the boathouse to accommodate a larger fleet of boats. This approach succeeded with a design that will secure the long term use whilst also improving the thermal performance of the building.
- A cost effective solution to extend the dry dock without piling into the Caledonian Canal which is a scheduled monument and would have required further permissions and potential delays to the project.
- Mabbett provided 3D renders utilising in house specialists. The client found this visual information very helpful to understand the final design concept.
- A high performance insulated cladding panel was chosen to provide an energy efficient building envelope that would reducing heating costs and create a aesthetical improvement overall.
- Planning Approval obtained in a timely manner that allows the project to be progressed onto Building Warrant stage.
