Mabbett Approach and Delivery

Mabbett are the verifier for Bord Bia’s Origin Green programme, Ireland’s national food and drink sustainability programme.

Origin Green enables Ireland’s farmers, food and drink processors and retail and foodservice operators to set and achieve measurable sustainability targets, reduce environmental impact, and serve local communities more effectively.

Project Outcomes

Expert advice and guidance: Annually auditing over 300 Origin Green members’ sustainability plans and verifying sustainability targets and reporting information. We have completed over 1,000 verifications since becoming Bord Bia’s verification partner.

Origin Green member companies ‘see a difference’: Bord Bia undertook a survey of their own clients in 2020, survey results indicated increased level of satisfaction with the Origin Green programme. Companies recognised Mabbett’s high standards of delivery and professionalism through the ongoing verification process.

Proactive approach to delivery: Our verification team work in partnership with Bord Bia for delivery of the Origin Green programme providing feedback and innovative suggestions on programme improvements. This has been recognised and welcomed by Bord Bia.
