HSE to launch new edition of the guidance document Successful Health and Safety Management

11th September 2013

The HSE is to launch a new edition of the guidance document Successful Health and Safety Management (HSG65). This new document will reflect the refreshed guidance on the HSE website on Managing for Health and Safety, which has moved from using the POPMAR (Policy, Organising, Planning, Measuring performance, Auditing and Review) model to a ‘Plan, Do, Check, Act’ approach.

What does this change mean for my organisation?

The revision to the guidance won’t have a fundamental impact on the management of health and safety within your organisation as the change in approach will reflect the model used for other management systems. The aim is to assist organisations to treat health and safety management as an integral part of good management generally, rather than as a stand-alone system.
