Based in Glasgow this position will support the overall delivery of our business objectives by aligning the deliverable to that of the Business Unit strategy.

We are seeking to recruit a Commercial Lead to join our growing team to support technical excellence and business growth. The position will be based out of our head office in Glasgow.

You will primarily work from home in the short-term and you will be provided with all IT equipment and the software/services required to facilitate your efficient home working. If home working is not suitable for you, we shall make alternative arrangements.  Long term arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate – we are a flexible employer and are willing to consider an arrangement that is desirable to you.

Whilst in this role duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Manage and develop the commercial team.
  • Delivery of robust and relevant commercial information to all stakeholders.
  • WIP management – valuation through to cash conversion.
  • Debtor management – own the debtor book and work to improve the cash position in the business.
  • Monthly reporting of job performance in line with the firms reporting timetable.
  • Support the budgeting process and provide analysis to support the firm’s strategy.
  • Ensure structured communication of the commercial information.
  • Allocate relevant commercial resource to projects where appropriate.
  • Structure data inputs, for example time writing, to support commercial department goals.
  • Be a leader in marginal gains for the client.
  • Align recognised business processes to the BMS and authorisation matrix.
  • Support in new contract negotiations to set norms that support management growth.
  • Gain understanding of current contracts to maximise outputs in conjunction with PMs.
  • Understand the contractual, commercial terms and administration requirements of the contracts to assist in managing and mitigating risks associated with contract delivery.
  • Proactively provide advice and support to the Operations Stakeholders and Project Teams regarding the contractual and commercial aspects of the contracts.

Experience and Skills

To be successful for this position the ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in a similar role is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse data.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Numerate with analytical and problem-solving ability.
